Round 12 v Loxton North

31 Jul by WFC Magpie

There was a real buzz around the Magpies Nest all day and it sure didn’t disappoint!

🖤Hippo and the u13s kicked the day off with a huge 121 point win with Wood, N.Thomson & I.Venning all kicking 4 a piece.
🤍the 15s led at every break with B.Leibich off the flank snagging 4 and named best with the team showing growth and comradery with each game they play.
🖤the 18s started slowly. The 2nd quarter saw neither team score a goal but as seems to be the case in season 2025 they dig deep in the 2nd half and kicked the majority of their score line, but just couldn’t quite nudge infront with a draw at the final siren. Bald named best in his 2nd game for the day and Flynn Andrew breaking the most games played in WFC u18s games record!
🤍the B grade game was more than just a game of footy-it was a celebration of a true Magpie Legend in Brooke Hoad along with resilience and mateship. While the Maggie’s didn’t get the win they tried hard all game and the buzz about the Magpies Nest won’t be forgotten for some time!
🖤the A’s soaked up the atmosphere and scored consistently across the 4quarters with a lead at each break. Brauny named best in what Jacko called a massive effort from the back 6 and have secured 2nd spot on the ladder with 4 minor round games remaining. Congratulations to both Jack Burgemeister and Jake Spencely on their 100th A grade games for the WFC.
🤍Our WFC Life Members and non-playing individual members enjoyed catching up at half time of the A’s over nibbles and a drink.
🖤 Thank you to the Magpies Army-senior players, jnr players & volunteers who chip in and help out with in their own and other teams and within and throughout the club.
